Joint World Conference on Social Work and Social Development
SW-VirCamp was present at the Joint World Conference on Social Work and Social Development: Action and Impact, July 2012, Stockholm. We have presented our Consortium and our future plans for an interdisciplinary course on ‘Online help’. This type of help was also mentioned at the congress as one of the themes for the future of Social Work.
At the congress we introduced a short survey with questions related to online help service and invited the participants to contribute to a mapping of Social Work online. Please respond to this survey as you see activated under NEWS if you have knowledge and/or experiences with social work online or if your institution/organization has this kind of experiences.
Presentation at the research Conference in Illinois
SW-VirCamp research was presented at the Eight International Congress of Qualitative Inquiery 16-19 May 2012. The conference is a yearly event at the University of Illinois, in Champagne – Urbana. Grete Oline Hole and Anne Karin Larsen from Bergen University College presented results from the action research programme that had followed the two online courses in Community Work. The title of their presentation was: ‘Participatory Action Research/Action Learning: Contributing to Participants Understanding of the Concept of Community Work’.
