Curriculum Plan
Our e-pedagogy course will strengthen the e-teacher competences among teachers in HEI and through this course inspire participants to develop new e-learning courses related to social work. This course promotes and strengthens the participants’ skills in teaching, supervision, planning and organisation of good e-learning courses in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
Lifelong learning (LLL) is an important objective for the EU educational systems and for labour mobility in Europe. A tool for LLL is e-learning methodology that makes it possible for professionals to increase their knowledge as part time students.
Being an e-teacher demands specific skills and competences in pedagogy related to supervising students on the Internet. One needs an explicit knowledge of how to structure the learning material to make a suitable and inspiring learning environment for e-learning students.
In the course we use portfolio assessment and students are working on their final assignment throughout the course. Task-centred, participatory and reflective methods of learning are the main pedagogical strategies.
Course language: English
Campus week:
The course starts with a campus week, where focus is on hand-on training working with the Learning Management System and other web2.0 tools, presentation of the e-pedagogy philosophy and how to structure and build up a good online course.
Through this week participants get to know each other and start to network and make possibilities for cooperation in development of online courses.
The Campus week in Madrid is a recommended part of the course, because it gives the possibilities to hands-on training and direct contact with the other participants. If applicants do not have the possibility to participate in the Campus week, we will try to make an online supplement, including part of the content this week. We will consider this when we receive the applications. Please then make a comment on this in the application form.
E-learning period:
The main part of the course is arranged as an online course using the ‘it’s learning’ management system, which is a user friendly system. Students will be guided through the course by weekly programmes and tasks, and the main literature will be available in the course. The course is arranged by the principles of good e-pedagogy and students are supervised by three teachers during the course. Online chats, synchronic and asynchronic are used during the course.
